Miss the Press, and Tim Russert.

I wish Tim Russert was here.

This is the thought that's running through my mind as I watch my MSNBC buds bask in the after glow of my candidate. My God wasn't he amazing. Republican or Democrat you have got to be proud of that speech. Today we nominated the first black man for President. Tonight we listened to Barack Obama quote Martin Luther King Jr.

Tonight we made history. Tonight we forever changed the world. No matter what happens now, the world has changed.

I say we because that is what Barack Obama is all about. Us. As a volunteer for the campaign, I believe in Barack Obama because he believes in us.

We shall over come. We are the dream.

My black daughter snuggled upstairs in her bed right now with her two white sisters, they are the dream.

The retired High School Principle and the Neighborhood Preacher who spend there free time improving race relations in our neighborhood, are the dream.

Barack Obama is the dream. We have come so far, and yet we have so far to go.

Right now, I miss Tim Russert. He would love this. I can see his big pumpkin grin. His wild eyes twinkling as he exclaimed 'What a Country!'

Tonight, I picture him behind his desk, with Ronald Regan and Jack Kennedy discussing this night. I see him one on one with MLK himself, tears in both of their eyes. I see him leading a round table with Stephanie Tubbs Jones and Daniel Pearl. Maybe Abe popped in, maybe LBJ or Bobby. There was no way to keep FDR from the stage.

"This is incredible!" Russert would say happily. "What a Country!"

Will the Real Bill Clinton Please Stand Up!

I love Bill Clinton. I miss Bill Clinton. I was frightened by the bitter ruthless man I saw in the primaries. I was worried about the passive racism I heard from his lips.

Today, I sat talking to some of the wonderful volunteers that work with me in our Campaign for Change office about how I longed to forgive Bill. I longed to once again look at my beloved President with pride.

Tonight I did.

The real Bill Clinton strode onto the stage with just a touch of trepidation. It had been rumored that people might even boo him, fearing it was the fake Bill Clinton. The crowd, however; knew it was him right away. They stood and applauded for over three minutes.

The real Bill Clinton stood up and conquered the doubt about my candidate. The real Bill Clinton spoke about AIDS in Africa, and more importantly AIDS right here at home. Bill Clinton spoke about the quiet leadership that the United States was once known for. He denounced the horrific show of teeth that the Bush White house has made our foreign policy.

He reminded the not so faithful why they needed to come home. He reminded us that social issues are at the root of our very survival. Not all threats to our way of life come from outside our borders. Hunger, Homelessness, Health care and Civil Rights violations plague effect us here in our own country.

These are the 'terrorists' we need to focus on now. The time is now and the need is here at home. Imagine what those 1.6 trillion dollars could have done here.

Welcome home Bill we missed you!

Welcome to my mess

Hi all.

I kinda feel like I'm launching on of those space probes, sending out a message in hopes that one day it will be received.

I have so much I want to talk about, from parenting to politics.

We have so much discuss.

I have an ex-husband who lives next door and a crazy set of former in-laws that both irritate and inspire me. Co-parenting and redefining family are going to be one of biggest topics covered.

I've spent years playing kids who need a little extra help. Autism is an epidemic and it needs to be faced head on. That being said, Children with Autism have soo much potential and so much to offer and I hope to let you in a little on the life of some of the kids I know.

I am a supporter and volunteer for the Barack Obama Campaign in St. Louis. I'm the office manager for the Youth Movement. I'm sure I'll have lots to tell you about that.

I'm an MSNBC addict. I am a Rachel Maddow fan and excitedly await the first episode of her new show starting 9-9-08 at 9pm Eastern Time. I also think that Chuck Todd is the smartest man on television. I'm sure I'll be saying 'we'll Chuck Todd says' a lot when I'm talking politics. He is the next Tim Russert

For the record, I'm a catholic, pro-life democrat. I don't want Roe v Wade overturned though.. it's a long story. I believe in gay rights and I will fight any discrimination against anyone of any race or religion.

I hope you will put up with my bad grammer, my smart mouth, and my horrible horrible inability to spell anything.

Anyway that’s me.

More soon
Lori...
